The simplest category of "Tense", is "Indefinite Present Tense" / "Simple Present Tense"
Simple Present Tense Definition :-
( Meaning of the Simple Present Tense)
Simple Present Tense is a Tense that has no certain or fixed time period as to the happening of the event.
or in other words, no one can get it that what is the exact time of the act or event happens.
We know "Present Indefinite Tense" as the simplest "Tense", because it has very minimum / least rules of forming sentence of such category.
no many rules apply on this sentence.
Just with the help of " fist / basic form of verb (i.e. V1)", we can make the sentences of
"Simple Present Tense"
Examples of "Simple Present Tense" are
- Mom cooks food
- Dad goes to office
- Horse runs fast
- Eagle flies high
What is meant by "Indefinite Present Tense"
We can see that the word "Indefinite" itself signifies that, something which is not definite or certain or fixed.
thus, as we are talking about "Tense" so obviously we are talking about "Time",
Hence the time is not definite,
That's why they are called "Indefinite".

"Definite & Indefinite Time" or"Definite & Indefinite Tense"
Difference between the
Definite & Indefinite Tense
As , when I say that :- I go to school
By just listening to this sentence can you guess
- at which time (i.e. 7 am, 7.30 am, 8 am, 9 am, or in evening shift at 12.30 pm)
- In what age or what standard for
- or
- In which school
"I go ".
Obviously all of the above points are not cleared, just by listening to the sentence :- " I go to School".
I hope now you have come to know that why "Simple Present Tenses"
are called "Indefinite Present Tense"
Simple Present Tense Rules
It is just only the "Indefinite / Simple Present Tense" that has only one rule of making such sentence .
i.e.
We just need to use 1st form of verb after the subject
(Subject means name of Person or Place or anything)
It matters in the Simple Present Tense that
if the subject is Plural then apply 1st form of verb to it,
like :- I, We , You , They , Boys , Girls , Teachers.
if subject is singular then you have to put (s / es ) with the 1st form of verb
like :- singular - He , She , Boy , Girl , It ,
i.e.
Present Perfect Tense Formula :-
Subject + V1 + Object
We just need to use 1st form of verb after the subject
(Subject means name of Person or Place or anything)
- So to make Simple Present Tense we just need to name the subject (I , we , You , They , He , She , It etc.) and
- Apply 1st (Root) form of the Verb
- Apply Object
Use of "s and es " with 1st form of verb (V1) in Simple Present Tense
if the subject is Plural then apply 1st form of verb to it,
like :- I, We , You , They , Boys , Girls , Teachers.
- I teach
- You learn
- Boys Play
but
if subject is singular then you have to put (s / es ) with the 1st form of verb
like :- singular - He , She , Boy , Girl , It ,
He teach + (es ) = He teaches
She learn + (es) = She learns
Boy play + (es) = Boy plays
She learn + (es) = She learns
Boy play + (es) = Boy plays
In other words = Subject + V1 + (e/es , if singular) + Object
